NBA star Tyson Chandler was diagnosed with asthma in 2004, but that hasn’t stopped the 7’1” New Orleans Hornets center from working to rise to the top of his game. By partnering with his doctor, Tyson has kept his asthma under control. Today, asthma affects 6.8 million children in the United States (nearly 1 in 15) and is the most common chronic condition affecting children. Tyson wants to help raise awareness among parents of children with asthma that the disease does not need to get in the way of their child's goals. Chandler hopes his personal story will help dispel the myth that having asthma should limit physical activity.
